November is definitely one of the more interesting months in the year and it just happens to be the 11th out of 12. The weather is changing for the worst (unless you snowboard), but the holiday season is right around the corner. Holidays mean family time and family time means lots of food and gifts!
Although November can be brutal if you are an avid Christmas junkie like me, thee are plenty of things that can be done within the last month in the fall to make it an enjoyable and successful 31 days.
To celebrate the 11th month of the year, here are 11 bucket list items that we would like to accomplish in November and you can too. Whether they are bucket list items or things to do, please take my ideas for November and run with it.
- Celebrate Thanksgiving with family
This one is an obvious here. Whether it is with your friends, co workers, or family, Thanksgiving is meant to gather with each other to give thanks. Oh, and add on a few extra pounds.
2. Go on a hike
November is the last month where you can enjoy the outdoor fall colors. It is also the last month of bearable outdoors weather depending on where you live. Go hike!
3. Build a campfire
This one also can relate to #3. Throw on some sweats and roast some marshmallows around the campfire.
4. Black Friday / Cyber Monday Shopping
This madness approaches for one weekend out of the entire year. The “great deals” that retailers display are there to go crazy over. Even if you aren’t in the mood to spend money, everyone has to shop on one of these days once.
5. Eat a pumpkin pie
Pumpkins may be out of style with Halloween gone, but the taste of a fresh pumpkin pie will never go away.
6. Find a Christmas tree
This one could be a bit early, but I know plenty of people who get Christmas trees at the end of November. Get into the real holiday spirit and start decorating the house!
7. Jump into a pile of leaves
Unless you live in the streets of manhattan with no leaves, go do it the second you see a leaf pile. Everyone has to be a kid again.
8. Don’t go Black Friday shopping on Thanksgiving
Yes, this contradicts #4 on the list. With that being said, don’t ruin your Thanksgiving by fighting over a television.
9. Go to a High School Playoff Football Game
Playoffs are starting for at least one level of sport in this month. Go take advantage and root for the hometown team!
10. Go apple picking
Apple picking is still alive and well. Make sure to throw on your flannel and enjoy the fall white it lasts.
11. Cook a turkey
Is it Thanksgiving without a turkey dinner? Nope, so go out and buy a turkey to cook too impress your loved ones. I’m sorry turkey nation, but you are tasty.
