The fact that I am writing this is amazing itself. I can’t believe that it is already October! It seems like just yesterday Kayla and I were getting ready to head to Utah in July. Time goes by so fast, but I won’t complain at the cooler weather that comes with October.
October… Welcome to 2019. October is by far one of my most favorite months and I feel like an underrated month. Most people’s favorite months revolve around the summer or just December for Christmas, but October is up there in the top months out of a year.
It’s spooky season. Yes, Halloween is at the end of the month and no matter how old you are, Halloween can always be an exciting day. The fall weather finally begins to hit in the fall. September, you get some glimpses of the gorgeous weather that the fall usually brings. October is that one month where you get the true fall weather and colors before the real cold weather rolls in the next month (varies by location obviously).
The leaves on the trees are officially converted to the bright and vibrant colors. If you don’t like some good ole fall foliage, put a blindfold on and stay away from me. October signifies the start of comfy clothes weather. Theres nothing better than throwing on some sweats sitting around a fire or heading to a high school football game on a Friday night.
All of these things I am mentioning have to be ASMR to you, right?
Let’s continue the show then, shall we? Take October for granted. As mentioned above, it’s the one true month in the full year that has weather that is not too hot and not too cold. Although I am looking forward to the winter so I can snowboard, I want October here for as long as it can stay.
October Bucket List
Since many of you are interested in hearing some bucket list items that you can add to your own, here are some items that are a necessity to do during October.
- Take a hay ride
- Go pumpkin picking
- Go Apple picking
- Start a campfire
- Fall fishing
- Watch a high school football game
- Go trick or treating (duh)
- Dress up for Halloween with your loved one
- Pumpkin spice Late
- Make a pumpkin pie
- Go hiking
- Take a road trip through the foliage
- Stay in a cabin
- Go to a NFL game and tailgate
- MLB playoffs
- Outdoor movie theatre
Honestly, this list could go on and on. These are some of my favorites and some of the popular picks off of the top of my mind. October is all about coziness and exploration. Go out and enjoy the fresh air before the harsh winter begins to roll in during November.
If I had one downside to October, the only one is that it gets darker much earlier. I honestly hate it, but with every positive, there can be a negative. Daylight ending earlier is okay as long as the weather holds up in October.
Enjoy this amazing month fellow readers! Take some of my bucket list ideas for October and run with it. Do that next activity that you were nervous about. Now is the time to take care of those outdoor activities.
