What’s In My School Bag?

Hey guys! So I just started my senior year of college and I changed up what I carry in my bag a bit. I usually love reading/watching stuff about this because it gives me ideas! This semester, my professors didn’t really want the class typing notes on my laptop as it is distracting to other classmates; I typically would always type notes on my laptop. If you guys want to see how I take notes or prepare for my classes please let me know! I would love to do that for you guys if you would like to see it.

To start off, I carry everything I need for class inside of an old handbag that I had gotten about 6 years ago; I got this from Coach. I will try my best to link everything or find something similar! My bag is medium size and I have to say, it does carry almost everything I need! I am on campus from about 11 AM until about 9 PM in the evening; I am not in class for that long but I like to go to campus beforehand and study a bit! I will begin to dissect what is in my bag to show you guys what I carry everyday!

The first and very important item (in my eyes), is my pencil case. This is technically a makeup bag but I utilize it for my pens, pencils, paper clips, etc. I actually got this for 50% off on the Victoria’s Secret website. This case fits all of my writing tools and it looks cute which is a plus! I have to carry multiple highlighters and different colored pens/markers because I need them for my Anatomy and Physiology class that I am taking.

The next item is basically my lifeline. Dramatic, I know, but it’s true! This is my agenda. I write absolutely everything here from my job schedule, to class assignments, to doctors appointments, to events. In case you guys haven’t picked up on it yet…. I LOVE ALL THINGS STATIONERY! This agenda is super cool because I can do a monthly overview as well as a weekly/daily overview. It also has a super cool section each week for a to-do list, notes, and goals. I got this at my local TJ Maxx.

Next up, my iPad and the iPencil. These two are essential for me when it comes to looking at textbooks online, professor’s powerpoints for lecture, or writing notes for my Anatomy and Physiology class. These are so important, especially when it can carry online textbooks so you don’t have to carry heavy books to class. The battery lasts forever and it makes my life a million times easier! If you guys want a what’s on my iPad blog please let me know! I’d be more than happy to show everyone where I take my notes and how I can access my textbooks.

I always try to carry a snack and water with me when I am in class. You never know when you are going to need water or a snack! Typically, I always have coffee with me but I always have water too. These plantain chips from Trader Joe’s are my all time favorite! They are very inexpensive and they’re so easy to carry with you to class. I try to stray away from carbs typically but if I am in class I will eat something before with carbs because it helps with brain function which helps me focus better. I don’t just eat these all day by the way! I carry a little lunch bag with me that usually has extra water, snacks, and my lunch/dinner. I also have the advantage of being able to leave campus between classes to grab coffee or some food.

The next item that is in my bag are my airpods. These are very useful when it comes to doing homework or studying. I tend to study on campus in a lounge so there is typically people there talking. Airpods in= Noise out. I don’t know about you, but I absolutely hate being bothered while I study so airpods help! These were a little investment but totally worth it. I have had these since July and I have only charged them 2-3 times. The battery life on these are INSANE. I highly recommend having a pair of these.

While I am in school, my lips are usually almost always extremely dry. I always have chapstick or lip gloss handy. This gloss is spectacular. Not only does it make my lips look wet, but it moisturizes them so well. The Fenty Beauty gloss bomb in the shade Fu$$y is what I wear on a daily basis. It is $18 dollars but its is worth every single penny… Plus it’s Rihanna’s brand so obviously I am going to buy it;).

These items are what I typically carry in the zipper pocket in my bag. These are my essential items. Gum, I am always chewing gum because I either have coffee breath (Sorry Mike:/ ) or because it helps me with studying! Tip; If you chew the same flavor gum during an exam as you were when you were studying, you are more likely to remember more information. I always have travel size perfume with me because I like to smell fresh all day long. I always have an extra hair tie handy because while I am in class, my hair is almost always up in a bun or ponytail. I wear glasses all the time so I always try to carry cleansing tissues with me to clean my glasses because they are always getting dirty. Chapstick is just one of those things that I NEED. I always have this chapstick with me regardless of where I go. Eye drops are so important especially if your eyes get dry and irritated like mine. If I am studying all morning, by the time 5 PM comes, my eyes are so insanely red and dry; These eye drops are a lifesaver. I always have hand sanitizer with me, especially because I am in a lab for my Anatomy and Physiology class. Although this semester, we aren’t dissecting anything, we have to touch plastic bones that are rarely ever cleaned so there are quite a bit of germs on them I’d assume. I try to carry Midol and Advil with me because I feel like I always get headaches or I have really bad cramps when it’s that time of the month for me. Typically I always carry a tampon or pads with me just in case because my periods tend to come and go whenever they please, there’s usually no way to plan when I am going to get it because they are so sporadic.

I hope you all enjoyed reading about what is in my bag for school! I will try to link everything as accurately as possible! My bag is super old so I will try to find something similar. I would love to hear from you guys and get your feedback. Am I doing a good job? What am I doing that is good/bad? I want to provide content to you all that YOU want to read. Please go ahead and leave a comment or even follow my Instagram. I always have my phone on me! I hope to hear from you soon:)

-Yours truly, Kayla

    1. Omg I bet you don’t look like a 12 year old kid! Black goes with absolutely everything! I used to hate the color but now I love it! I used to carry around a floral Vera Bradley backpack for years before changing to my new bag! Thank you for commenting😊
