Top 10 Products for Oily Skin

Top 10 Products for Oily Skin

Hello beautiful readers! Today for my first blog post, I will be talking about my top 10 products for oily skin. I suffer from extremely oily and acne prone skin as well as having big pores. I am always looking for products that can help improve my skin. I will try my hardest to include cleansers, masks, oils, moisturizers, and toners!

I really try to take very good care of my skin because I don’t wear face makeup all that often. I am a manager at Abercrombie and Fitch and I always choose to go for a more natural look; I usually just go to work with brow gel and mascara on. Because I am at work for at least 8 hours at a time, I find that wearing foundation is way too heavy and can make my face break out, especially if I have to run around and do a bunch of tasks.

#10: The Body Shop Tea Tree 3 in 1 Wash Scrub Mask ($22.00)

I absolutely love this product. Tea tree oil is my ride or die when it comes to my skin! It really helps with my acne. This product is super unique because you can use it as a face wash/scrub and a mask. I utilize this product more as a scrub but if I have a pimple that is super irritated I will use it as a mask and let it sit on my skin for 15-20 minutes.

#9: Clarisonic Mia 2 ($169.00)

This face brush is such a staple in my skin care routine. It is very pricey but it is worth every penny in my opinion. The battery lasts absolutely forever on it as well so it makes it very easy to travel with. I really love how you can customize the cleanse you are going to get just by changing the brush insert. The brush insert I use is the deep pore cleansing head. That head is going to give you a deeper cleanse. I try to use this brush once a day, doing it 2 times a day really seems to dry my skin out and make it flaky. I try to use this product at night because it really gets into the skin and cleanses the skin deeply which helps if you have excess dirt or oil from the day in your skin.

#8: Philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser ($24.00)

This cleanser is really awesome. It is so gentle on the skin so using it every day will not dry your skin out or irritate it. It doesn’t have any strong fragrances either which is nice because I find that with some products the fragrance is way too strong and it can really bother my eyes. I was speaking to one of the women at Ulta when I went to pick up another bottle of this and she said that it also has a built in toner so it tones your skin as well as cleansing it. It is so good at cleansing the dirt or any leftover makeup away on your skin. I highly recommend this to everyone I talk to about facial cleansers!

#7: Mario Badescu Drying Lotion ($17.00)

If you have a pimple and you need it gone within the next day or two, go and get this product! It is hands down the best acne spot treatment that I have ever used. You can either purchase the glass bottle or plastic bottle version of this product (they are both the same price). I can put this product on an extremely painful and irritated pimples and they will be gone within the next few days. I always make sure that when I wash this product off in the morning that I use an exfoliator because if I don’t I find that the area is flaky.

#6: Rose Hip Seed Oil

Facial oils are so important especially if you have oily skin. Rose hip seed oil is my go to when it comes to facial oils. This is one of the many that I use in my daily routine. I didn’t list a price because I got my bottle at Marshall’s a while back and it cost me about $6.99. You can find rose hip seed oil almost anywhere.

#5: Vitamin E Oil

Vitamin E oil is so important when you have scarring. I have a lot of scarring on my face from when I would breakout a lot and this oil has definitely helped heal it. This oil is also from Marshalls and was about $6.99. You can still go and find these there! I try to apply all of my oils at night so it can really sink into my skin while I sleep.

#4: Thayers Witch Hazel ($10.95)

Witch hazel is my toner of choice because it doesn’t irritate my skin at all. I find it really helpful with my redness as well as my pore size. I apply witch hazel to my skin right after I wash my face in the morning and at night.

#3: Estée Lauder DayWear Matte Oil-Control Anti-Oxidant Moisture Gel Crème ($54.00)

Now, this product is a little pricey for a moisturizer, but I would not be putting it in here if it wasn’t for a good reason! This is so light on the skin but it hydrates it like no other! It doesn’t get sticky and it doesn’t break me out either. I find with some moisturizers that it can break my skin out and clog my pores. It really does control your oils throughout the day which is really awesome as well. Some products tend to advertise oil control and they do the exact opposite, but this product stays true to their word! Because this product is so light, I really enjoy putting this on as my daily facial moisturizer in the morning.

#2: Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer ($68.00)

I received this in a travel size as a birthday gift from sephora and I bought the full size after using it for a week. It is such an amazing moisturizer. It isn’t sticky at all and it really absorbs well into the skin. It doesn’t have a scent either which is nice because sometimes fragrances bother me. I put this on at night after I have applied my oils and my skin is always so hydrated in the morning!

#1: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay ($9.99)

This is hands down my favorite face mask. I purchase the 1 pound container off of amazon and it lasts me forever! It is a loose powder which allows you to mix in any liquid you would like. I like to mix in apple cider vinegar because it works much better than water in my opinion. I usually use this mask about 3-4 times a week. I leave it on for about 30 minutes and really let it clean out my pores and I have found that when using this product my pores have gotten a bit smaller. I use a small glass dish and mix the product with a plastic mask applicator. If you try this mask out, you will be hooked!

Okay guys! So that was my top 10 for skin care. Obviously I have a lot more favorites than just the products I have listed above! If you guys want specific favorites like masks, cleansers, etc please feel free to let me know! I’m always trying new skin care out so if you have any suggestions please reach out to me:). Thank you so much for reading!
